To help raise awareness of her cause, a PDF version is also available on the press website for free download and sharing.

The anthology was conceived in 2012 after the shooting of Malala, a 15 year old Pakistani girl, who was targeted by the Taliban for promoting education for girls. She had been blogging and speaking out since age 11. Fortunately, she survived the attack and she continues to work for the cause of women's rights. A nominee for the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize, she again has been threatened by the Taliban.
Poets all over the world answered the call of editors Joseph Hutchison and Andrea L. Watson in submitting poems for the anthology. Some of the poems are directed to Malala herself, others speak to the grief of oppression and the hope for change. All are heartfelt and, apart from the subject matter, maintain the artistic integrity of fine poetry.
Proceeds from Malala: Poems for Malala Yousafzai are donated to the Malala Fund.

Malala edition by Multiple Authors Joseph Hutchison Andrea Watson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I can't help but praise "Malala Poems for Malala Yousafzai." The editors, Joseph Hutchinson and Andrea L. Watson, choose an amazing variety of poems united by a single theme—Malala's courage to stand fast in the defense of an ideal basic to humanity, the right to education. Her beliefs will continue to reverberate though out our daily lives education, and in particular, female education must not, under any guise, be denied. She serves as a model to us all.

The quality of the writing and the organization of the material worked beautifully. It is very much to their credit that Future Cycle Press chose to donate all proceeds from the sale of this book to the Malala Fund. We'd be less if it weren't for life's poetry, and certainly life would be less without the body of work contained in this book.
Two memorable poems in this anthology are Diane Kistner’s “The Lamps of Night,” which ends the book (surprisingly and wonderfully) with a kind of wish and quiet benediction, almost a lullaby. Also excellent (and alarming) is Paul Hostovsky’s “This and Only This,” which proclaims, defiantly, the sub-rational envies and fears about women among violent jihadist men---just godawful and surely accurate. It’s a collection that makes the mind turn and turn restlessly how to locate a way out of the impasse that leads to the deliberate shooting of a child. Hopefully, sales will be strong for this charitable project.

The poems are extremely poignant and show an amazing view of the power of words!
I enjoy reading the poems from many people. A wonderful way to learn more about Malala and to help other young people understand
how they can help create a better world.
Excellent poets and poetry within this new poetry anthology from FutureCycle Press addressing the life and work of Malala Yousafzai.
I think most people will read this to see Malala's strength in standing up and surviving an attempt to take her life. For myself, I enjoy reading books that allow a glimpse into other cultures. The book tends to move back and forth through Malala's viewpoint and the authors. For me, Malala's recollection is the most interesting. It shows how easily and quickly a society can be turned by lack of education and governed by a single religion. No matter what country we live in, we should learn from Malala's experience and better our own nations.
